The Committee on European Integration recognized the bill to amend article 20 of the Law "On Advertising" (re ban to use images of children in political advertisements) as non-contradictory to the law of the European Union

The bill (Reg. No. 10698) proposes to supplement article 20 of the Law "On Advertising" with provision regarding prohibition of using images of children in advertisements of political parties and candidates to offices in state bodies.

Members of the Committee noted that by the subject of legal regulation the bill belongs to the sphere of consumer rights protection, and healthcare and life protection of humans, animals and plants. Legal relations in these spheres are governed in the European Union by the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union and the Directive of the European Parliament and Council 2006/114/EC concerning misleading and comparative advertising.
